The OUTCOME

Fig. 01 — Primary mark, carved from positive and negative space

The Solution

Rather than invent a visual language from nothing, I looked to what already reads as permanent in the British psyche — its architecture. Stonehenge became the reference: a structure whose authority comes from geometry and endurance, not ornament. I translated that logic mathematically into the wordmark, carving UKIB from positive and negative space so the letterforms carry the same structural certainty the brief demanded.

The Brief

When the UK government confirmed plans for a new Infrastructure Bank — built to finance a green industrial revolution and anchor the country's 2050 Net Zero commitment — the identity had one job above all others: earn instant credibility. It needed to sit convincingly alongside institutions with centuries of visual heritage behind them, despite being brand new, carrying a mandate signed off at Chancellor level.

THE UKIB

A national identity built to look like it had always belonged among the world's financial institutions — designed to carry a 2050 net-zero mandate with the weight of heritage.
