Set Design
AJ Tracey
Lyndon Ogbourne is a London -based production designer. He is multifaceted, working across a range of mediums including still life, video, art installations, stage design, events, and interiors.
Lyndon came to me with the idea of creating a fully visually immersive set for an upcoming AJ Tracey music video. The set up was for a self contained cube with a single design that flowed seemlessly across all surfaces. The selected design would need help to obscure corners and create a sense of panorama within In this set.
Having liaised with AJ, Lyndon had established that a 'Cat in the Hat' style scene would occur in the video. This opened up a great opportunity to solve the design problem.
I landed on a Dr Seuss, candy cane inspired design with swirling lines and heavy contrasts. The design looked and felt 'Cat in the Hat' aesthetic, but also had been manufacture to specifically solve the unique problems.
I printed the works on white matt vinyl with an R9 anti-slip sealant on the floor section to improve safety during filming.
